A beautiful cooking accessory.

A beautiful cooking accessory.

I bought this a couple of months ago, and truth be told, I'm yet to use it. I took it out of the box and examined all the attachments. It's a very sturdy machine and looks like it will do a sound job on my lightweight mixing duties. It's super heavy, though, so I'm trying to figure out how best to store it on my counter (because it's so lovely) and yet have easy access when I want to put it into use. (The rubber feet really grip tightly to my granite, so I can't just slide it out of its resting position.)

Anyone have any storage/usage suggestions?

Herbal Essence Body Wash Strikes Again!

Herbal Essence Body Wash Strikes Again!

#TheHerbalistas #bodywash They aren't just about hair anymore.

I have been able to sample two of their body washes, HELLO HYDRATION and BODY BURST. They are both great, strong scents that last, and both lathered nicely with my pouf. I'd choose BODY BURST as my first pick, due to its deliciously fruity scent. It makes me smile & dance (see my post dated 9/24/13).

With that being said, I really did enjoy the coconut scent of HELLO HYDRATION.  It reminds me of summer & beach days, hanging out with my friends and laughing it up.  Good times.  Thank you Herbal Essence.  I'm really looking forward to trying out all new scents, too!

Spring Cleaning

It's time for spring cleaning.  Let's kick it off here, shall we?

Here's my Top 10 list for making it sparkle:

1. Start from the top down, beginning with the exhaust fan.  Pull it down, debug, clean and repaint it bright white, as necessary.

2. Brush the ceiling corners with the broom to capture all finely spun webbing that's normally out of my reach.

3. Dust the light fixtures over the mirror, including the light bulbs, and then clean the mirror, itself.

4. It's bleach time.  Scrub the toilet inside and out.  Don't forget to wipe down the baseboard heaters, too.

5. Wipe down all the ceramic tiles in the shower with Lysol textured cloths.

6. Scrub the tub and dose the drain with some baking soda and white vinegar.

7. Remove old tub caulking and reapply bright white!

8. Clean the sink and counter areas.  Excellent time for uncluttering.

9. Wash the throw rugs and clean the floor.

10. Look for a new way to spruce it up, like change out the curtains, add flowers, spritz with a new fragrance, etc.

Beyond These Hills - Sandra Robbins

I received a free copy of Sandra Robbins' work, Beyond These Hills.

It was my first exposure to Sandra's writings. Although I did find it to move along a bit slowly, especially during the first half, I found the story much more enjoyable by mid-way. I enjoyed the weaving of Scripture throughout, without being too heavy-handed. I thought the characters were lively and likeable. The plot was a bit simple, but spiced up a bit with the forest fire scenario. All in all, I would read another of Sandra's writings before deciding on whether to follow her more extensive collection.

I will be passing it along to a young lady in my junior high group I lead, as it does seem a bit more fitting for the coming-of-age women who are learning to wait on the Lord to bring all that He desires for them.
